About GRANTIMPACT

GRANTIMPACT is an online course for nonprofits to strengthen communications skills that maximize the outcomes of projects and organizations. Often, grantmakers provide the course to their nonprofit partners. Nonprofits can also enroll in it directly. GRANTIMPACT is based on the insight that strengthening communications can significantly increase organizational impact.

GRANTIMPACT consists of brief video tutorials on strategic communications skills such as messaging, creating a communications plan and conducting fundraising communications.  After  completing each video module, course participants receive an email with a lesson summary, resource links, messaging templates, book recommendations and step-by-step worksheets. The goal of the course is to share best practices in a highly efficient way while respecting the time constraints of course participants, and focusing on information that can make a difference in a project’s outcome.

GRANTIMPACT can work with nonprofits and grantmakers to add custom modules. This includes areas outside communications, for example, project and business management.

A GRANTIMPACT subscription includes one-on-one assistance including feedback and communications coaching.

Course participants receive a certificate of completion after completing their course. GRANTIMPACT follows up to evaluate communications successes and challenges.

GRANTIMPACT was created by a former vice president of communication with the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, Marc Fest. Marc is also founder of messagehouse.org, a toolkit used worldwide to create powerful key messages (read the Message House story on LinkedIn).
