About Grant Impact
Grant Impact is a one-on-one coaching / e-learning platform providing nonprofits a more strategic and scalable mechanism to strengthen communications skills that maximize the outcomes of projects and organizations. Grantmakers provide Grant Impact to their nonprofit partners to amplify the success of grant-funded projects. Nonprofits can also enroll in Grant Impact directly. Grant Impact is based on the insight that strengthening communications can significantly increase organizational impact.
Grant Impact was created by a former vice president of communication with the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, Marc Fest. Marc is also founder of messagehouse.org, a toolkit used worldwide to create powerful key messages (read the Message House story on LinkedIn).
Grant Impact consists of brief video tutorials on strategic communications skills such as messaging, creating a communications plan and conducting fundraising communications. After completing each video module, course participants receive an email with a lesson summary, resource links, messaging templates, book recommendations and step-by-step worksheets. The goal of the course is to share best practices in a highly efficient way while respecting the time constraints of course participants, and focusing on information that can make a difference in a project’s outcome.
Grant Impact can work with nonprofits and grantmakers to add custom modules. This includes areas outside communications, for example, project and business management.
A Grant Impact subscription includes one-on-one assistance including feedback and communications coaching. Grant Impact coaches are experienced and carefully selected experts committed to helping changemakers harness the power of communications.
Course participants receive a certificate of completion after completing their course. Grant Impact follows up to evaluate communications successes and challenges.
